Марсель: 1660 - Charles II: Embarkation at Scheveningen This impressive silver medal by Peter van Abeele commemorates the embarkation of Charles II at Scheveningen for his return to England after the restoration on the 2nd June 1660 (MI 455/44). The reverse shows Fame flying above the English fleet. The medal is made, as usual, from two plates joined at the edge. The diameter is 70mm and the condition is GVF, with minor edge knocks. Марсель: 1660 - Charles II: Landing at Dover SOLD This rare silver medal by John Roettier commemorates the landing of Charles II at Dover after the Restoration in 1660 (MI (i) 457/48). Following the call from Parliament for Charles II to be restored to the throne, the King sailed from Scheveningen, Holland, and landed at Dover on the 26th May 1660. The reverse - shown larger than the obverse - shows the arrival of the King on board the Naseby, the name of which was later changed to the Royal Charles. The three figures representing England, Scotalnd and Ireland are shown greeting the King. The diameter is 57mm and the condition GVF. Payment by bank transfer or Sterling, Dollar or Euro cheque only.
